I love this about my profession: Every day is different and if you have want to be great, you have to keep learning every day as the wine world is constantly expanding.
I get so much joy from: Discovering new wines and sharing them with people.
This is how a winemaker can get on my wine list: Have a well made, unique tasting wine - I am not really concerned about where it particularly comes from as more and more countries are making great wines from (still) unknown regions. If the wine is well made and unique, I can sell it.
If I were alone on an island (with a refrigerator!) I would have this with me: A case of Domaine de Chevalier Blanc and Salon, with a few bottles of Krug (1 Grand Cuvee, 2 of Clos du Mesnil and Clos d' Ambonay), a Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir and a Groth Reserve Cabernet. Not to forget Serbian wine - I would like to have 2 bottles of the Trijumf Sauvignon Blanc.
I would like to achieve this within five years: I would to help with the training of Serbia's sommeliers for the ASI exam and ensure we have at least a 50% pass rate from the candidates. As for myself, I would like to pass my Advanced course and get into the Master Sommelier program.
