I love this about my profession: The people, I love having contact with vintners and seeing the sparkle in the consumers’ eyes when they hear the stories of the men and women and their vineyards – and when they taste the wines.
This inspired me to become a sommelier: The birth of my first son. As I decided to only dedicate time and energy to things and people that I truly care for.
My mentor is: I have met many great inspiring vintners and sommeliers throughout the last few years.
This is how a winemaker can get on my wine list: By showing great skills in winemaking with an impact of terroir.
I could do without this in my profession: Permanent price bashing and the ignorance towards wines and the work involved in the vineyards.
If I were alone on an island (with a refrigerator!) I would have this with me: A huge stack of Mosel Riesling.
